Super weekend for riding around Oakridge.  Sunny and 70′s, trails are drying out.  Mike A. went

out to the Middle Fork on Saturday and rode from Sand Prarie CG up to Butcherknife Creek at

RD 2127.  He reported one big old growth tree down, and a few smaller ones.

The trail has a few smaller trees down above Butcherknife Creek, and is passable up to about

Indigo Springs.  Snow level is somewhere up near Paddy’s Valley.

Spring.  Here in Oakridge spring is a beautiful time.  The daffodils have begun to flower, the

tulips not far behind.  The high country still holds a lot of snow, and the weather fluctuates

between rain, sun, and snow.  At present it is pretty wet.  The snow level is right about 5000′.

This means the lower trails are melting  out, but are wet, and the upper trails are still covered

in snow.  There’s 3-5 feet of snow at 5000′, 1-2 feet at 3000′, and none down here in Oakridge

at 1200′.

Windy Pass is under snow, so is Heckeltooth.  However Flat Creek, lower Alpine, Larison Creek,

the Middle Fork, South Willamette, and North Shore are all open, and riding pretty well.

Give it a few days of dry warm weather, and things will be opening up all over the place;)

This Mojo HD was new in our rental fleet in August of 2011.  It has been well maintained, and is in excellent condition.  The only damage to the bike is the small scratch in the rear shock stanction.  Originally $5500, now only $3800.

Check out this sweet old school Seraph.  We refurbished it with a new chain, tires, tubes, and more comfortable bars, but we left the awesome retro deraileurs, shifters, and skip tooth cogs.  $125 takes it home!
